When this picture was exhibited at the Poulsen Galleries in Pasadena, CA in 1988, it was incorrectly attributed to, "Maurice Alten." The exhibition's catalog noted also incorrectly, that "Maurice Alten circulated in the California area during the 1940s and 1950s."  The painting however, is clearly by Mathias J. Alten, and bears his "M. Alten" signature.
